Consumers expect more when they travel – they want personalized, authentic and connected experiences that are personally fulfilling. The Travel Experience Incubator Challenge, brought to you by Marriott International, Accenture Interactive and 1776, is looking to the startup community to help create solutions that increase connectedness and enhance the guest experience in each stage of the travel journey.
Up to six startups will each win cash prizes and participate in a three-month, travel-focused incubator program starting in September 2017 with opportunities for paid piloting and investment at the program’s conclusion. The Travel Experience Incubator Challenge welcomes ideas, both big and small, that collectively build a better end-to-end travel experience for every traveler and will support startups to prepare them for potential pilot opportunities and investments.
Whether your work is in revolutionizing price-comparison tools or gamifying food stops, we want to hear from you. We are looking for companies to provide promising, unique, and scalable solutions in the following categories:
Dream and Discovery: The industry needs solutions that create or enable immersive travel experiences, provide new or improved opportunities for travel discovery, research and shopping through Online/Offline Travel Agencies, compare corporate managed travel, and improve the reservation, confirmation, and cancellation experiences. Think new paths to discovery and reframing the travel experience from the start.
Plan and Anticipate: Solutions that provide new opportunities in travel social media/management platforms, planning and logistics, flexible pricing and upselling, group travel, payment and financial services, and transit and luggage services
The Hotel and Local Experiences: Solutions that improve the in-person experience stay, where digital and physical converge, from gamification of experiences to food and beverage, retail and wellness opportunities
Customer Engagement and Advocacy: We are looking for solutions that drive loyalty, brand advocacy, or engage customers in repeat stays through a targeted and personalized experience as well as non-stay experiences (i.e. guests from the community who are not staying in the hotel). Think customer data and feedback, content marketing, and community engagement.

Marriott, Accenture Interactive, and 1776 will select startups to participate in the Travel Experience Incubator Challenge. The two-part interview process will determine which startups will participate in the incubator program.
All companies must submit an application through the Travel Experience website by Tuesday, August 7, 2017.
Semi-finalists will have the opportunity to interview virtually with representatives of Accenture Interactive, Marriott and 1776 for their initial interview.
Finalists selected will have the opportunity to interview in-person (expenses paid) in the Washington, D.C., Metro area with representatives from Accenture Interactive, Marriott, and 1776 the week of August 17 and 18, 2017.
Selected startups will be notified of their selection to Travel Experience Incubator Challenge program on August 18, 2017.
The Travel Experience Incubator Challenge kicks off in mid September, 2017 and continues through mid December 2017.
