Tom Davidson is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of EverFi, an education technology company founded in 2008 to tackle some of the largest challenges facing our nation. EverFi builds powerful learning platforms to teach, assess and certify users in the critical skills they need for life. Key focus areas include financial literacy, student loan preparation, online safety and cyberbullying, alcohol abuse and sexual assault prevention, diversity and inclusion, STEM skills, and career readiness. The company hosts two of the largest online courses in existence and has certified more than 10 million users in all 50 states.
EverFi is backed by visionary technology leaders including Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Google Chairman Eric Schmidt, and Twitter Founder Evan Williams. The company has built one of the largest education networks in the world today with 6,200 K-12 schools and over 1,000 leading companies, foundations and higher education institutions including the American Express Foundation, Capital One, Genworth, J.P. Morgan, US Bank, Harvard University, and Stanford University.
Tom has been a leader in education technology for 20 years. Elected to the Maine State Legislature during his senior year at Bowdoin College, he served three terms and led efforts to create one of the nation’s first one-to-one laptop initiatives and to institute technology training for teachers. He also served as Chairman of the Utilities and Energy Committee with oversight over broadband deployment in schools, universal services, and public utilities. Following that, Tom became an investment banker and venture capitalist at Village Ventures, where he invested in early-stage technology companies in the education and social media sectors.
Tom has been featured in numerous media outlets including Bloomberg, CNN Money, Fast Company, Fox Business News, Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post. He was named an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year and a Goldman Sachs Top-100 Builder and Innovator. Tom is a graduate of Phillips Academy Andover and Bowdoin College.
