Bands, Great Food and a Sneak Peek: The Challenge Festival Opening Party!
It’s hard to believe we are just ONE WEEK out from the Challenge Festival! And you know what that means—a killer opening party at 1776.
Get ready to kick off Challenge Festival with us in true startup style next Friday at our Opening Party presented by Revolution with gold sponsors Opower & Morrison & Foerster and silver sponsors Wingate Huges & Swatchroom. This is your first chance to party with all of our startups, speakers and attendees at a celebration of the amazing innovations we are seeing in Washington, D.C., and around the world.
H Street All Stars – fun dance-cover band will play from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
The Deadmen – a rock-and-roll D.C. band of four will headline from 8:45 – 10:00 p.m, featuring a local star Justin Jones.
Great food from around the world
Get to the opening party early, because from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Union Kitchen is providing a special treat- food stations from cities that the 1776 team traveled to for Challenge Cup, featuring:
- NY vs. Chicago pizza battle
- Classic Washington, DC Chili Half Smoke
- Austin BBQ Sliders
- Los Angeles-inspired Salmon tartare
But it couldn’t be a party without a drink in hand, so we’ve added the Startup Sangria and Challenge Crush—a vodka cocktail with lemon, lime, and pineapple—to our wine and beer list for the evening.
Wonder what other big developments are happening at 1776? Good—because when we go big, we go all the way. The Opening Party is your chance to be among the first to see 1776’s newest floor—before it officially opens!
Opening parties set the tone for an event—and with the amazing entrepreneurs, experts, policymakers and all those attending, we know that this one will be the perfect celebration. If you haven’t already registered for your free Bronze badge that will get you into the Opening Party & free community events going on during the week, now is your chance to join in one of the biggest parties all week, and be a part of the Challenge Festival from the very beginning.
