Emily Kennedy is President & Founder of Marinus Analytics, a social impact company spun out of Carnegie Mellon University that creates AI tools to fight human trafficking. Their flagship software, Traffic Jam, leverages big data and AI to identify and locate victims of sex trafficking sold online and dismantle organized criminal networks. Traffic Jam operates in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, with continued global expansion in progress. Ms. Kennedy greatly enjoys telling the stories of impact that Marinus has made in the global community, showcasing the team’s innovative spirit in the realm of AI for good, and bringing life to the company’s core goals and long-term strategy. She advises stakeholders—such as attorneys general, prosecutors, law enforcement agents, and NGOs—on use of technology to enable data-driven, proactive impact. Ms. Kennedy is a social impact entrepreneur, Forbes 30 Under 30, Toyota Mother of Invention, one of Entrepreneur’s Most Powerful Women, and keynote speaker. She also hosts The Empower Podcast and coaches founders on how to build businesses that change the world.
