As one of over 50 cities around the globe participating in this worldwide program, we are honored to give Kyiv startups the chance to share their ideas on the global stage and compete for over $1m in prizes and coveted worldwide connections.

This year UAngel and U.S.-Ukraine Innovation Council are happy to share the news of hosting the first Challenge Cup in Kyiv!

Challenge Cup is an international competition, held by global startup accelerator and a seed fund 1776 that finds promising startups focused on solving the world’s most fundamental challenges and helps engineer their success.

Startups, willing to apply for competition, can apply here:

Application deadline is November 17th.

Startup criteria:

– Working within core industries: cities, education, energy, food, health, money, transportation, and security.

– Scalable product or service—in market with measurable traction

– Under $2.5MM in venture funding at time of application

– Under $3MM in revenue (at time of application); <$2MM ARR

Kyiv is among over 50 cities around the world that have joined together to host a global competition to find the world’s most promising companies tackling our world’s biggest challenges.  Each city will run a competition to find their top startups, who will be flown to one of nine Challenge Cup Regional finals (in case of Kyiv, that would be Tel Aviv, Israel). From there, winners of these Regional finals, along with and handful of wildcards, will be flown to the Challenge Cup Global Finals next June in Washington, D.C.  There, they’ll compete for over $1 million in cash prizes, gain coveted connections to help them grow and have an opportunity to share their vision on a truly global stage.
