Challenge Cup is an annual worldwide tournament for the most promising startups to win cash prizes, make international connections and share their vision on a global stage. The competition is initiated by 1776 a US-based global incubator and seed fund, which is building a global community to provide the intellectual, social and financial capital these startups to succeed.
The tournament is organized by 45 hubs on local level, then in 9 regions, from where the winners will proceed to the global event in Washington D.C. The local competition in Boston is hosted by Innovation Nights, a grass roots innovation community that helps local entrepreneurs and innovators get more visibility through a series of product launch events. The event will take place at Greentown Labs, a cleantech hardware start up incubator in Somerville, on January 26, 2016.
Winners of the Boston area local competition will advance to the Eastern North America regional competition in New York City in March 2016. Regional winners will compete for $1 million in cash prizes and funding at the global finals in Washington, D.C. in June 2016.
