Ned is a seasoned innovation executive with two decades of startup/turnaround experience in the US and EMEA combining tech ventures, Fortune 500 ICT multinationals, family firms and government. He recently spent 5 years advising the UAE Prime Minister’s Office on Innovation. Startups he’s been associated with have had successful exits to the likes of IBM, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, and Thomson Reuters (Zawya). He also set up IT blue chips Intel and CA Technologies’ operations in the EMEA emerging markets, and launched new ventures for UAE giants Mubadala, du, and National Holding. Ned currently advises international innovation organizations on market access in the Middle East and North Africa. He remains active in entrepreneurship and education for socio-economic development in the region as an investor, board member and mentor to high-impact SME’s, incubators, accelerators, as well as community networks such as Young Arab Leaders and the Stanford UAE Alumni Club (founding President). He holds a Master’s from Stanford University, a Bachelor’s from Northeastern University and is fluent in Arabic, French, and English.
